England Call-up for Aimee

Aimee with teammate Melissa and Natalie.

Karate Girl Aimee Sell has been selected as part of the female Kata team to compete in the WKF Senior Karate Championships, which are being held in Paris at the end of November 2012.

Aimee will be teaming up with fellow England Squad members Natalie Payne and Melissa Williamson to form the first female Kata team to compete at a Senior Championships for over a decade. The trio are busy training for these championships and as part of their preparations they competed at the South Yorkshire Open recently. Their preparation went well as they completed three rounds securing the Team Kata gold without dropping a flag.

Aimee isn't new to team Kata as this will be her 4th time in the team event for England but the first at a senior world event. Aimee was part of the first ever junior Kata team to medal at a Junior European Championships in 2010 where the team won a bronze medal beating hosts Turkey in the repechage final .

There will be no rest for Aimee though as she is also preparing for selections for next years Individual Junior Kata category and Team Kata category too.
